Incubator Program

Program Description
This program is designed to foster the growth of a more diverse landscape of winemaking projects and support communities that lack representation in Oregon wine.  The program is orchestrated by Carrie Wynkoop, CEO of AVP Wine Collective, Corey Schuster, Winery Director of AVP Wine Collective and Owner of Jackalope Wine Cellars, and Cristina Gonzales, Owner of Gonzales Wine Co.

Our Goal
To engage 2 to 3 new winemakers each year in the process of launching their own brand and offer them training, support and expertise in reaching their goals.

Who We Are Looking For
People with a passion for wine and the commitment to creating their own brand.  Previous experience in wineries or sales is beneficial but not necessary!  We’re looking for people who clearly demonstrate their desire to make exceptional wine but also to build a distinctive brand and market their product effectively.  We encourage members of historically underserved communities to apply!

Members of our 2024 incubator program:

Randall Coats began his wine journey when he joined the staff of City Winery in New York. His passion for wine drove his future work experience leading him to a WSET Level 2 certification and a myriad of jobs in the wine service industry. As he likes to say, he is “a passionate enthusiast with a journey deeply rooted in the wine industry” and he has a “relentless passion to actively participate in shaping the future of wine.”

Jennifer Warner’s path to wine took a more circuitous route – as it does for so many in this industry – including attending law school and starting her own company advising clients on unclaimed property. But a life-changing trip to wine country set her on a new path, to become a winemaker. She is working her way through the winemaking program at Chemeketa Community College and is particularly excited for the “chance to collaborate with like-minded individuals who share my passion” and to “contribute to the vibrant community” here at AVP Wine Collective.
